Hello, I'm Josh and I'm deeply passionate about the world of swimming and open water sports.
My journey in aquatic sports began as a competitive junior swimmer, where I dedicated years of hard work and discipline to excel at the highest levels. Throughout my junior career, I proudly stood on the podium at regional competitions and earned my spot in the finals of state-level events.
In my mid-20s, I embarked on an exciting transition to the world of triathlon and open water events. This shift allowed me to explore new horizons, pushing my limits even further. I proudly represent Australia in the dynamic field of triathlon, clinching victories in my age group at state-level competitions and proudly earning my place on the podium at the Australian Championships, including the prestigious Xterra event.
However, it was during my years competing in triathlon at this level that I began to notice a common misconception in open water swimming. Many athletes believed that swimming for a triathlon required a very distinct approach, a special way of navigating the open waters. This realization fueled my determination to bridge the gap between traditional swimming techniques and the unique demands of triathlon events.
One of the most remarkable moments of my journey was securing the second spot in the fiercely competitive 25-29 age category at the World Championships. This achievement not only reinforced my commitment to the sport but also fueled my desire to share my knowledge and experience with others, particularly those passionate about triathlon.
My deep-rooted passion for swimming, coupled with years of competition and dedication, has driven me to establish Swimace.
Through this venture, I aim to help swimmers of all levels achieve their goals, improve their techniques, and overcome any challenges they may face in the water. What sets me apart is my focus on teaching swimming techniques tailored specifically for triathlon events.
